     Edwin Damon was born in December 1822 at Maine.2

     Edwin, at age 24, married Sarah H. Lovejoy at age 21, daughter of Jacob Lovejoy and Sarah Sally Townsend, on 25 April 1847 at Stetson, Penobscot, Maine.1

     There were four civil war drafts that included 776,000 individuals in that time. The records contain class, congressional district, county, state, residence, name, age on July 1, 1863, race, profession, married status, birthplace, former military service, and remarks. Edwin was listed on the Draft Log. At the time he was living at Charleston, Penobscot, Maine. The month of registration was in June 1863. Unknown GEDCOM info: JUN 1863 Edwin was listed on line 7, his occupation as a farmer.3 Edwin Damon filed for divorce from Sarah H. Lovejoy in September 1868 at Somerset, Maine.4

     Edwin died on 1 May 1901 at Etna, Penobscot, Maine, at age 78. Unknown GEDCOM info: 01 MAY 19011 and was buried at Clark's Hill Cemetery, Stetson, Penobscot, Maine.5

     Edwin and Sarah appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Charleston, Penobscot, Maine, enumerated 11 June 1860. Edwin was a farmer, his real estate valued at $700.00 and personal property at $150.00. Their children, George, Caroline, Nancy, Hilliard Page, Sumner Townsend and Charlie were listed as living with them.7

     Edwin appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Etna, Penobscot, Maine, enumerated 5 June 1880. Edwin, divorced, was listed as a houseright His children Sumner Townsend were listed as living with them.8

     Edwin appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Etna, Penobscot, Maine, enumerated, 22 June 1900. Edwin owned his home and was working as a farmer..2

     Mary Abigail Damon was born circa 1 June 1792 at Maine.2

     Mary, married Rev. Hosea Smith, son of Hosea Smith and Abigail Hersey.

     Mary died on 1 October 18711 and was buried at Smith-Ridge Cemetery, Charlotte, Washington, Maine. Her headstone reads: 'Think of her; speak of her, not as departed, Short is the distance that parts us today. bound us about us the brave and true hearted ... deed that have brightened her way.3'
